Chocolate wine combines the best of both worlds: chocolate and wine. This easy to make-at-home treat is perfect for an after dinner desert or a late afternoon delight.

Chocolate wine is made by blending a full-bodied red wine and melted dark chocolate. The wine is poured into a saucepan and warmed over low heat. After letting it simmer for about 15 minutes, the wine should be removed from the heat source and whisked together with the melted chocolate. The chocolate and wine should be mixed together until the drink becomes frothy, and should then be immediately served.

Making chocolate wine is an inexact science. Different amount of wine and chocolate can be used to experiment, and different wines or chocolate may prove to be more delicious than others. Fruit-flavored wines, such as raspberry, apple or blueberry wine may also add a little hint of flavor to the chocolate wine. For this specialty drink, experimentation is the key!

Although often hard to find, chocolate wine can also be purchased in bottle form. Many types are available, including port wines and merlots, and many also include hints of orange or berries. Bottled chocolate wine is a great gift for customers, coworkers, family and friends.

In our particular culture and country, we tend to spend a rather large portion of our lives vilifying things that previous generations enjoyed in excess. Cigarettes, alcohol, meth and even good old fashioned wine, something you had better be prepared to fight for if you refuse it from a Portuguese host, have all been turned into something ugly by the culture and the media which is why people find it so hard to believe that wine can actually have health benefits. It’s true and usually whenever I am performing high-stress tasks – paying the bills, getting squared away on TexasElectricityProviders.com/, looking at the status of my student loans – I always keep a glass close by. The elements of wine can actually help prevent ulcers and other stress induced ailments and depending on who you speak to, what doctor, a glass of wine each and every night can work wonders for your overall health. This, of course, is not to in any way lessen the dangers of wine or any other alcoholic beverage – anything enjoyed in excess can be harmful, but wine, in this particular instance, is an elegant and awesome drink that can really help you out when it comes to tackling stress or just trying to relax.

Choosing the right type of wine for your wedding event can be a complex task if you are not used to choosing wine, or are not familiar with the types usually served at events like this in combination with certain foods. Some wines go great as a drinking wine, and others are mostly useful to enhance flavors in foods like beef and vegetables. Wine is an incredibly versatile drink that has many dimensions of social and culinary use, and with so many varieties and vendors it can be hard to pick them apart.

The best wine to choose for a wedding is often a nice full bodied, dark rich wine that allows the taster to get a full spectrum of the flavor in just a few sips. The choice ultimately comes down the the planners however, as any high quality wine will do for toasting as long as it is served at the proper temperature and easily tasted. Wines like Shiraz and Cabernet are very good choices that also match beautifully with certain meats, making for a great meal companion as well.

These are not the only things to consider when thinking about which wines to choose for your wedding, but some of the main ones. Choosing a wine doesn’t have to be difficult, if you go into the shop with a little bit of knowledge beforehand you can make the experience that much easier.

Hosting a wine tasting at home is the perfect way to get together with your friends and family and spend a few quality hours enjoying each other and good wine. For those that are unfamiliar with wine, this is the perfect opportunity to introduce them to the culture. For those that love wine, this is the perfect opportunity for them to share their knowledge with others and maybe even learn something themselves.

One of the best tips for hosting a wine party at home is to ask each guest to bring their favorite bottle of wine for tasting. To make sure you don’t end up with 16 bottles of the same pinot noir, assign each friend a category, such as asking one to bring her favorite pinot noir and another to bring her favorite cabernet sauvignon.

Provide plenty of wine glasses for your guests. Party supply stores have large quantities of inexpensive disposable wine glasses that are perfect for this. Also include a number of different foods such as cheeses and grapes that can be paired with wines. Basic white bread should be used to cleanse each person’s palate between tasting each different type of wine offered at your tasting.

Creating the right dinner involves knowing what wine to pair with what meal. That is an essential element when you are making a special dinner and want to thoroughly enhance the dish with just the right pairing of wine. You need to have a baseline understanding of what the different types of wine taste like so that you can make a better, and educated decision.

You can start off by using simple guidelines as you learn more about how to best pair wine and food. The old adage of red wine goes best with pasta dishes and red meat and white wine matches nicely with fish, seafood and chicken still ring true. However, you need to delve a little deeper in to the meal itself to truly get the right match.

The wine needs to compliment and not contrast against the food. This means that you will want a lighter bodied red when servicing delicate beef dishes such as filet Mignon or even beef burgundy. White wine that is crisp and less sweet works well with fish prepared in light sauces and a sweeter wine work well with hearty and savory pork dishes. When it comes to pasta dishes, a rich bodied and full flavored wine will match well, and you can match the color of the wine to the color of sauce used for the pasta itself as a good base gauge.

When looking to get out of the house and enjoy a nice dinner, it’s always a good idea to go to our favorite restaurant or to even try a new one out. Now, if you’re someone that likes a glass of wine here and there, here are some tips you may want to take into consideration when ordering wine at a restaurant:

Taste test: Though not all restaurants allow you to taste test some wine, some are willing, so it never hurts to ask.

Type: You may also want to consider the type of wine, as some taste better than others. From red to white to even old or fresh wine, the taste can range greatly.

Alcohol content: If you don’t like your wine to be too strong, ask what the alcohol content is.

Recommendation: If you’re up to trying anything, just ask you server which wines are the most popular ones.

Though getting a glass of wine at a restaurant may seem like no big deal, it’s important that we find one we like because each glass tends to be pretty expensive. So, from asking for a small taste test to taking into consideration how strong it is, you can help come across one you may enjoy more.
